Summer Survival - The Dangers of Heat Illness and Wildfire Smoke

This webinar was held on .

In this webinar our Risk Control Team talked about heat illness prevention and employee protection from wildfire smoke. Wildfires burn across the U.S. annually and can spread quickly, particularly in dry conditions. As we approach drier, warmer weather, we must recognize the airborne health hazards due to wildfire smoke and the dangers of working in high-heat conditions indoors and outdoors.

This webinar featured a discussion of the best practices and preventative measures employers can take to keep their employees safe as we approach this upcoming wildfire season. We will also review the California and New Mexico requirements and guidelines regarding wildfire smoke, heat illness prevention, and OSHA's General Duty Clause standards, as well as the proposed California Indoor Heat Standard.
