Chris Orozco Brings 12 Years of Benefits Expertise to Poms & Associates
“My ‘why’ is making a complicated process simple,” says Chris Orozco, the newest Employee Benefits Producer at Poms & Associates. “When clients feel confident about their insurance and benefits, they can focus on growing their business and supporting their people.”
Orozco’s career in insurance didn’t begin with a producer’s book of business—it began in the mail room at Warner Pacific. Over more than a decade, he advanced steadily through roles in rating, underwriting, case advocacy, and pre-sales support, building a technical foundation and an appreciation for the many ways benefits decisions ripple through a business. By the time he moved into sales consulting and later joined The Liberty Company as a producer, he had already developed a reputation for combining technical expertise with persistence and client care.
That combination is exactly what drew him to Poms & Associates. “What stood out to me during the decision-making process was how consistent the message was—from the leadership team to the advisors,” he said. “It was clear this is a place where expertise and care go hand in hand, and that combination creates real value for clients. I wanted to be part of a high-caliber team, where I could contribute and continue to grow.”
For Orozco, success in employee benefits isn’t just measured in placement or renewal. It’s measured in trust. He recalls working with a client through a difficult renewal cycle, where transparency and persistence mattered just as much as technical solutions. “That experience reinforced for me that strong client relationships are built as much on trust as they are on technical expertise,” he said.
As he steps into his new role, Orozco is focused on simplifying complexity for employers navigating an ever-changing benefits landscape. He describes insurance as a craft—one that requires staying sharp through market research, peer perspectives, and compliance updates. “What keeps me energized is knowing that the more I grow, the more value I can bring to clients,” he said.
